SECURITY & CONNECTION CENTER

Connect your exchange with clear permissions and a recovery plan.

Automated trading requires credentials that can read account data and place orders. This center explains what access ATRADX needs, how credentials are handled, and how to reduce avoidable risk before the first live order.

Funds remain at your exchangeWithdrawal permission is not requiredTrading access can still cause losses

HOW ACCESS WORKS

Know what the software can—and cannot—do.

01

Restricted permissions

Create a dedicated key for ATRADX. Enable only the read and trading scopes needed for the markets you use. Never enable withdrawals.

02

Credential handling

Credentials are saved on your device in files restricted to the current operating-system user.

03

Your exchange holds the funds

ATRADX does not custody your assets. Orders are submitted to your exchange through its API. Disabling withdrawals reduces one risk, but trading permission can still create losses or unwanted positions.

04

You can revoke access

You can stop ATRADX and delete the API key from the exchange at any time. Revoking a key does not cancel existing orders or close positions, so verify both separately.

BEFORE YOU CONNECT

API security checklist

  1. Use a new key dedicated to ATRADX
  2. Enable 2FA on the exchange account
  3. Enable only read and required trading permissions
  4. Keep withdrawal and unnecessary transfer permissions off
  5. Bind a stable public IP when your setup supports it
  6. Never paste secrets into email, chat or support forms
  7. Start with conservative settings and a small balance
  8. Keep an exchange emergency-stop plan

SUPPORTED EXCHANGES

Create the key at the exchange, then connect it in ATRADX.

Exchange screens change over time. Use the official guide for your exchange, then follow the same least-privilege workflow below.

01

Sign in on the exchange website and complete 2FA.

02

Open API Management and create a dedicated key named ATRADX.

03

Enable account reading and only the spot or futures trading scope you need.

04

Confirm that withdrawal permission is disabled.

05

Add an IP allowlist only if the computer uses a stable public IP.

06

Save the one-time secret and passphrase, enter them in ATRADX, then test with a small balance.

Never send an API secret, passphrase, exchange password, private key or seed phrase to support.

CONNECTION TROUBLESHOOTING

Start with the error message.

Search by exchange error code, message or setting. The solution library covers API permissions, position modes, Unified Accounts, order limits, time synchronization and network errors.

INCIDENT RESPONSE

If a key may be exposed

  1. Stop all ATRADX instances
  2. Delete or disable the API key at the exchange
  3. Review and cancel unexpected open orders
  4. Review positions and manage exposure directly at the exchange
  5. Create a new restricted key only after the account is secure
